At Woodcrafters, we believe in the transformative power of nature & craft.

Founded in 2024 by Craftsman and Author Alex Finberg, with a background working in mental health advocacy, Woodcrafters has grown into a community-driven social enterprise providing a range of projects providing vulnerable children and adults facing mental health challenges with the opportunity to build resilience, develop practical skills and improve wellbeing through natural crafts

“Craft as a tool for social change”

Initially contracted by the NHS to deliver Woodcraft for Wellbeing sessions as part of a social prescribing initiative, it quickly became clear that the need for nature-based therapeutic activities was urgent and could provide alms to key social issues such as nature deficit disorder, social alienation, mental health and addiction

Since then, Woodcrafters has supported vulnerable children, adults, and individuals with mental health needs across diverse communities, helping them experience transformative mental health outcomes.

Our mission is simple: to use natural crafts as a tool for social change. Through nature-based, hands-on experiences, we empower individuals to improve their mental and physical health, build resilience, and develop confidence and practical skills across the UK.
